Military airport near Damascus bombed by Israeli jets

Military airport near Damascus bombed. Suspected holding ammunition depots for Hezbollah. Syrian media attributing to Israel.

‘Syrian state news agency SANA says Israeli jets have bombed the Mezzeh military airport west of Damascus, accusing Tel Aviv of supporting terrorism. The airport was rocked by multiple explosions, with ambulances rushing to the scene.
The Syrian Arab Army has warned that there will be repercussions for Israel for the “flagrant attack” on the military base, state TV said, citing a Syrian army command spokesman. It also linked the alleged strike to Israel’s “support of terrorist groups.”
“This is the second time in two months the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has being accused by the Syrian government of targeting Syrian positions from Israeli territory.

On December 7, SANA reported that “several surface-to-surface missiles” were launched by the IDF from the Golan Heights. At the time, the source in the Syrian armed forces slammed the attack as a “desperate attempt” by Israel to endorse terrorists.”

I am thinking along the line of ‘If the Russians didn’t fire on the planes it means the Israelis cleared the attack with them ahead of time as has happened a few times before.”
That would explain the report that the Russians started pulling out of Syria a few days ago.

U.S. troops moved to Poland

“The largest U.S.military reinforcement of Europe in decades of around 2,700 troops, out of 3,500 planned, arrived as part of operation Atlantic Resolve, aimed at showing Moscow Washington’s commitment to its allies.
“The main goal of our mission is deterrence and prevention of threats,” U.S. Army Colonel Christopher R. Norrie, commander of the 3rd Armoured Brigade Combat Team, said at a welcome ceremony in Poland’s western city of Zagan.
The U.S. deployment to NATO’s eastern flank includes more than 80 main battle tanks and hundreds of armored vehicles. The military unit will rotate through several countries, including Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania.
“Their arrival is just one small but meaningful example of how we are quickly building combat power here,” Norrie said.”

Tensions between China and Taiwan increase

“TENSIONS between China and Taiwan are at boiling point after a fighter jet was scrambled in response to Beijing sending a warship into disputed waters.
he Communist country sent its only aircraft carrier through the Taiwan strait, considered part of Taiwan’s defence identification zone.
After conducting training exercises in the dispute South China Sea the ship sailed through the contested waters, prompting Taiwan to scramble its own military forces to monitor the vessel.
The Taiwanese central news agency confirmed it sent fighter jets, an anti-submarine plane and a frigate to watch the ship.
The carrier, called the Liaoning, was said to be returning to its base in northeast China through the strait, a trip which will take some 10 hours.”
