Mid-Term Elections: Post Mortem

The mid term election results were almost all tally out. As speculated, the Democrats won the House. On the bright side, the Senate Republicans gained some seats. Some people considered mid term elections a vote of confidence (or not) to the current administration, and historically speaking they don’t look good for the administration in power. That being said,

It is a bitter pill to swallow, but maybe it is for the best. There is no need of RINOs in House or Senate for that matter, to oppose President Trump at every turn of the road, to create the false impression that he is not doing much to fulfill his campaign promises like securing the State’s borders against the hoards of illegal immigrants, when in reality all they did was to throw roadblock after roadblock.
At least now the cards are on the table.

Unfortunately that means that the Democrats are going to be even more horrible that they have already been for the past two years, we are going to have Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi spewing their hate and calls for impeachment.

I was watching the press conference today, and I saw the same Acosta being disrespectful even more than usually, other CNN peers acting like hyenas and President Trump looking much more tense then before and very irritated.
I think that he knew he is going to lose the House; but at the same time his options were limited and he had to pick his fight. That was saving the Senate. For that he spent considerable part of the past month campaigning like his presidency depended on it.
He had to get through the mid terms to see how things came out. Now that the mid terms are behind him I would say that he reached the phase of ‘I have enough of your crap’, he means business and the gloves are off.

He waited patiently for the mid terms to be finished to fire AG Sessions. At the President’s request, he handed in his long overdue resignation.

President Trump
‘We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well….

….We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.

Naturally, the media are having a major meltdown over Whitaker being handed the job and about everything else Trump related. Today’s press conference was a shame and a disgrace. I do not remember Obama being treated the same; he was the darling of the media, the black Jesus who could do no harm (the irony is thick considering his real religion).

Breaking: Acosta’s White House press pass has been suspended until further notice.

‘CNN’s Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta’s press pass to access the White House was suspended “until further notice” Wednesday, hours after he engaged in a contentious back-and-forth with President Trump.’

Press secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed Acosta’s tweet in a statement, claiming the suspension of his press credentials stemmed from his “placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern.” She called the behavior “absolutely unacceptable.”

“Contrary to CNN’s assertions, there is no greater demonstration of the President’s support for a free press than the event he held today. Only they would attack the President for not being supportive of a free press in the midst of him taking 68 questions from 35 different reporters over the course of an hour and a half — including several from the reporter in question,” Sanders said.

“The fact that CNN is proud of the way their employee behaved is not only disgusting, it is an example of their outrageous disregard for everyone, including young women, who work in this Administration,” she added.
